Bio
Guitarist/composer Jason Crigler made his reputation as one of the most sought after guitarists in New York through his work in the band Goats in Trees (which he formed with his wife Monica) and by playing with such luminaries as Linda Thompson, John Cale, Marshall Crenshaw, Teddy Thompson, Juliana Nash and Edison Woods.
In 2003, Jason began to play under his own name, and started recording the first of his two fantastic albums Down Like Hail in 2004. The Music of Jason Crigler, which features vocal performances from Marshall Crenshaw, Teddy Thompson, Erin McKeown, Amy Correia, Holly Palmer and Neal Casal soon followed.
Today he is primarily a composer for film, television and advertising. Recent work includes music for the feature-length documentary Ashtanga, NY, the film short Grand Street, and music for a number of advertising campaigns including many for GE. Currently, Jason is composing music for the feature-length documentary The Revolutionary Optimists.
Jason is the subject of the award winning documentary Life.Support.Music., which aired on the PBS POV series in 2009. This film chronicles Jason’s recovery from a life threatening brain injury he sustained in 2004.
Releases The Music of Jason Crigler, Down Like Hail, Smoke and Mirrors by Goats In Trees, and numerous instrumental compositions are all included in the JuxMusic Collection.
